Quebec
Stretching from the fertile Saint Lawrence River Valley in the south to the frozen tundra of the Hudson Bay region in the north, Quebec is one of Canada’s most fascinating provinces. Known affectionately by locals as “la Bell Province,” or “the beautiful Province,” Quebec is home to the largest French speaking population in the Americas, and is the only province in Canada where French is the primary language.
The average Quebecois has a deep appreciation for all kinds of music, as demonstrated by the large numbers of music festivals that take place throughout the year. The Montreal Jazz festival, Les FrancoFolies and the Fesitival d’ete de Quebec are just a few of the world renowned festivals presenting top performers from around the world. The local music scene is incredibly vibrant, and ranges from traditional Quebecois folk music to Francophone pop.

Brooke Fraser
New Zealand singer/songwriter Brooke Fraser started out as a Christian-themed folkstess, translating her music into massive commercial success, and emerging as one of the best selling New Zealand artists in history with her 2003 debut LP, "What To Do With Daylight.”. Brooke is the daughter of Bernie Frasier, a onetime star with the New Zealand All Black Rugby Squad.
Brooke studied piano until the age of 17 and is a self taught guitarist. In late 2003, she traveled to Los Angeles to record her follow-up CD, Albertine, which was released on Wood and Bone Records in 2008,and is featured this month in the Women’s Alternative channel. The first track on the CD, “Shadowfeet” caught our ears and fancy, making GotRadio a new Brooke Fraser fan.
