In 2007, in Alison Krauss’ Nashville home, producer T Bone Burnett, along with Robert Plant, began working on the album that would become “Raising Sand”. Plant and Krauss had been mutual admirers, having first performed together at a concert celebration for Leadbelly. Their respective sounds blended layers of roots, blues, country and folk-rock, and proved to be immediately phenomenal. “Raising Sand” debuted at Number 2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, and was nominated for a Grammy.
T Bone Burnett selected material for the album ranging from the Everly Brothers’ “Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)” to “Killing the Blues” and “Please Read The Letter”. Musicians on the album included guitarist Marc Ribot, bassist Dennis Crouch, drummer Jay Bellerose, with appearances by guitarist Norman Blake and multi-instrumentalist Mike Seeger.
Instead of ending their collaboration with “Raising Sand”, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have continued touring throughout the U.S. and Europe, with musicians featured on the album,
On September 18th, they were awarded Album of the Year and Duo/Group of the Year at the Americana Music Association’s Annual Honors & Awards Show.

With the release of “Wheels”, Dan Tyminski continues his journey as one of the most recognizable male vocalists in bluegrass music today.
As a member of the “Lonesome River Band”, his work as a guitar and mandolin player first gained Tyminski recognition, appearing on the 1989 release “Looking For Yourself”, when he was just 21 years old. In 1994, he signed on as a full-time member of “Alison Krauss and Union Station”, as a guitarist, mandolin player and lead and harmony vocalist. The band has won International Bluegrass Music Association awards, Country Music Association awards and Grammys, with Tyminski himself being named male vocalist of the year by the IBMA.
In 2000, Dan Tyminski became even more well known, singing George Clooney’s vocals on “Man Of Constant Sorrow” in the movie “O, Brother, Where Art Thou”, which again won numerous awards, including CMA Single Of The Year. The soundtrack started a resurgence in bluegrass music. The Dan Tyminski Band was also formed in 2000, when Tyminski’s first solo album, “Carry Me Across The Mountain” was released.
Dan Tyminski has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the year, and “The Dan Tyminski Band” is nominated for Instrumental Band of the Year for the IBMA awards, taking place on October 2nd.

Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, born Elliot Charles Adnopoz, has also been called the last Brooklyn Cowboy. Even with his extensive travelling, his nickname is said to have derived from his unique storytelling. According to fellow folk singer Odetta, her mother gave him his name when she said, “Oh, that Jack, he sure can ramble.”
When Woody Guthrie was hospitalized for Huntington's Chorea, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot became his student and protégée, with Bob Dylan following closely behind. Even Arlo Guthrie has acknowledged that he learned his father’s songs and style through Elliott. Later, Elliott was to appear on Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue. In 1995, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott's first recording in 20 years, "South Coast", earned him his first Grammy.
In 2006, “I Stand Alone” was released on the Anti-Records label. Now, at 77, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot is returning to the studio to record the follow-up, singing, playing acoustic guitar, backed by Van Dkye Park and David Hildago, among other notable musicians.
