When it comes to Classic Rock, GotRadio has the perfect formula to relive those rock memories from rock’s formative years.  Classic Rock began in the 60’s as we transformed from pop-rock, to a more album-oriented rock.  Early rockers like The Beatles, Stones, and Kinks furthermore, gave way to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Who….while in the 80s, we rocked out with Def Leppard, U2, and Van Halen!

And they ALL live right here, at GotRadio’s CLASSIC ROCK station

3 decades of the world’s BEST music!

Got Radio Classic RockSo what exactly IS Classic Rock?  It’s music that morphed from pop-rock in the middle-to-late 1960’s, to great rock songs from the 1980’s.  One of the true moments in rock history came in 1967, when The Beatles released their famous “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearths Club Band” album.  Released in the Summer of 1967(also known as the “Summer of Love”), this LP changed the way people listened to music.   We went from a hit single music audience, to an “album” audience!  In reality, that is how “classic rock” began…with the concept LP, where the art was listened-to as an entire piece of work, versus a hit single or two.

People began listening to the WHOLE ALBUM, as an art form.  In addition, album artwork came to the forefront. Cover art for Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club band won a Grammy in 1968 (for the LP which was released in 1967).  Other famous covers included 1973’s “Dark Side Of The Moon” By Pink Floyd, “Abraxas” by Santana, and “Sticky Fingers” by The Rolling Stones, which actually had a WORKING zipper on the front cover!!

But it was the music INSIDE the album cover that was truly the star…and here we are, in some cases 50 years later(YES, Sgt. Pepper turns 50 in 2017), listening and enjoying the greatest music ever recorded: Classic Rock! Available 24/7 on, for FREE!
